I was a little behind what with work deadlines - don't you just hate it when that pesky thing called work gets in the way of your sewing time?!
Finnaly I can update on the Sew.Happy.Quilt. QAL I joined at the first of the year.
Block 6 is an 8-patch block made up of HST (half square triangle) units, squares and triangles. I was happy with the way my color choices turned out but my block was slightly off size and I was not able to square it up as good as I wanted, but all in all it's a very pretty block.
Block 7 is a block made up of triangles - or flying geese blocks. I haven't really made many true traditional flying geese units and this was a fun block to play with. Some how this block reminds me so much of the Nederlands (Holland) and maybe just maybe its because this block's name in another form is 'Flying Dutchman'. :)
Here
are my blocks 1 thru 7 in all their glory. I need some advice please! The
Friendship Star block has a yellow print background and I am wondering (really
it is bothering me quite a bit as you can tell) if it is visually distracting?
This is not my choice of a layout, but still I think I may need to re-sew this
block with either white or pale yellow as the background. Please and thanks!!
It's funny about this quilt when I
first purchased the fabric I was excited and happy with my choices, then after
a few blocks I started to question these colors and prints. Now seeing them at
this point I am starting to really love the colors and prints again, it's just
funny ya know?!?!
